OOT bags ..the actual bags
As I posted about before, the OOT bags are going to be a pretty big endeavour--with about 50 or so out of town guests, they are quite an undertaking. I already posted about the bags that we had chosen --we even received them in the mail! They looked just as great in person, were perfect with our wedding color scheme, I thought we were good to go. Than this past weekend was a huge wedding weekend for me ( bridal shower/dress fitting/make-up and hair trial) and The moms and aunts came in for the weekend. My Mom and Aunt managed to take the guilt i already felt , over not using re-usable/earth friendly bags--and doubled it. While at Giant they commented that although there shopping bags weren't beautiful, at only 99 cents each, it wasn't too bad.
There is also this option for a bag from whole foods
^ Both of these bags are 99 cents, so total would be around $50 vs $25. I am starting to believe though that the $25 extra would be worth it, to give our guests a bag they would hopefully use over again, and that is better for the environment. What are your thoughts? You think I should stick with our color scheme and the bags I have, or ease my conscience and go with the reusable bags?

You already have the other bags, so the damage is done. I say stick with them!
I agree with Jess. I'd rather have the cute paper bags, then I could reuse it as a gift bag later.
Agreed w/ jess and tiffany. Also, you really don't know that the guests will use the bags again. You just know that the bags *could* be used again.
Regardless of which you pick, I love that you are highlighting this idea!! Weddings are understandably a time of product consumption, and it's nice to see a thoughtful, eco-friendly take on gifts for your guests.
What about bags from www.cheaptotes.com
They have some that are 99 cents, and you could put a design on them. I got the promo bags, but would not recomend them because they are quite small (smaller than the measurements that they suggest) but they were 69 cents.

I just think the Giant bags are really cool. That's what I would want if I were a guest. Giant rocks.
If you can return the paper bags, then I would suggest using MUJI canvas bags. You would need to buy them from the store in NYC (maybe a friend could do it?). They are only $1.00 each, and super cute.
If you can't return the paper bags, then I agree the "damage" is done - at least they aren't plastic!
The bags at Target are 99 and collapse into a small clutch.
Agree with most just keep the ones you already have.
