The Getaway Mobile

Last weekend Fiance and I went down to Charlottesville to finalize a few thing including the car we'll be using on the day of the wedding. Our church and reception are only 5 minutes apart so I was fine with just driving our own car but Fiance didn't want to pass up the opportunity to drive something fun.

I'm not really a limo type of gal...they can be fun, but in general I think they are overpriced, cheesy, and for the most part unneeded, so we decided on a classic car. Luckily Charlottesville is the home base for Sports Car Rentals. It's just a one man show...a guy who loves classic cars and rents them out to people in the area. He has a great selection and the best part is instead of dealing with the pricey hourly rentals of limos we get to have the car for the entire weekend.

The rates are a total steal in my opinion - $95 for one day and $180 for the entire weekend. They allow up to 200 miles a day to be put on the cars.

So without further ado below is the beauty we chose - A 1959 MGA:

^ Isn't she beautiful???
Below are some of the other options:
^1974 MGB
^1960 Triumph TR3

^1978 Alfa-Romeo
^1972 Triumph Spitfire

^1963 Buick Skylark

^ And this beautiful "Bridal White" Cadillac is available with driver for those that would prefer to be chauffeured around for their wedding. It's a little bit more pricey though...$150 an hour

I don't know of any place with the same type of classic sports car rentals in DC but other classic car options -

Miss Alexandria posted about regal limousine a while back. http://www.regallimousine.com/ . Personally I like the 57 and 62 bentley

and

Justine over at The Unbride blog posted about her classic pink caddy that she'll be taking and has contact info there - http://theunbride.net/?p=221
