Friends in high places

I don't know anyone famous. Three summers ago I met Donald Rumsfield at the Lincoln Memorial at Rolling Thunder and he took a picture with me with his arm draped over me like we "were boys" and all but that's about as far as I go with brushes with fame. Mostly I'm oblivious when it comes to stuff like that and I've actually missed MANY opportunities to meet celebrities because of that.

So how does this figure in with weddings? I know. I'm so unfocused. Blame BabyBowie as that's what happens when you become pregnant.

Anyhoo, what I'm getting at is the fact that you can actually invite a plethora of famous people to your wedding!!! They are likely not to show up but what they will do is send you a lovely reply for your wedding keepsakes if you're into that kind of amusing kind of stuff (like I am). Mrs. Lemon and Mrs. Snow Pea of WeddingBee both did it and I found this article with addresses for both the Prezzy Bushy and the Queen of England.

I was planning on doing this for myself as I'm just a goofball sometimes but now with plans changing I don't know since we really don't have a need for wedding invitations (I've picked option 1 from my previous discussions and I'll update with planning items of that). When it comes down to it though, all you'd really be possibly "wasting" would be buying another invitation and paying for postage! But it looks like people from the above links have received some pretty cool replies. Personally, I would get a real kick out of getting a wedding card from Mickey and Minnie Mouse but that's just me.

I must admit i too, fell into this and received a fantastic response from the Clinton's when I married.
Queen Elizabeth will only have responses sent to Brit's... Sorry.
