Getaway Dress---

SO the invitations are FINISHED along with another DIY project--but I want to wait until I can get the pictures downloaded to blog about those--so hopefully tomorrow :) In the mean time I've encountered a "glitch"--which I will definitely post about, hopefully after I get it fixed ( keep the fingers crossed)..so in the meantime I thought I would talk about the "getaway dress".

I know this is an "old fashioned" idea from when brides would leave straight for there honeymoon--but it is making a comeback, and since FI and I are planning to go out after the reception, I wanted to slip into something more comfortable. Now that the wedding is getting closer by the day, it's time to start looking for "the getaway dress".

This dress doesn't have to be white--but personally I would like to wear a white dress.

^ I think this dress from nordstorm is adorable! It's under there wedding dress section of nordstrom, but for only $168 , I feel it could be a great "getaway" dress.

^ This dress also from nordstrom, i feel is fun and flirty--but I'm not sure if it's TOO flirty? I love the beading though!

My final contender for now is

^ Sorry for the poor picture quality, this is a suite that is currently on sale at Macys for $148 ( in case you aren't aware Macy's is having a huge sale !).

So I am playing with the idea of either a suit or a cute dress--what are your thoughts? Are any of you changing into a "getaway outfit"?

I got this dress for my rehearsal dinner and not only is it super cute and comfy, it's on sale and the price tag is definitely easy to swallow. :)

I won't have a getaway dress as we'll spend the night in the hotel where we have the wedding but I think I might treat myself to something nice for our brunch / lunch the next day :)

Oh, I love the idea of the get away dress. We will probably go out after our recep. as well since it ends early. I loved this dress from The Preppy Weddings Post in May about after party dresses:

It's in rather limited availability now though and I think it might be a bit summery for an Oct. after party.

I will probably wait for the some sales in Oct./Nov. to pick out an after party dress.
