Registry Ideas - Summer Quilt

Phew! This weekend we moved into our new house! It was a lot of work but we had the help of friends and family to not only do the heavy lifting, but keep us laughing the whole time as well.

Moving is such a great opportunity to really evaluate all of your "stuff" and think about what you use, what you don't, and what you wish you had. Of course this brought up talk of our registry. We have a few months before we need to start one, but we'd like to give it some thought so that we register for things we will truly value instead of just whatever looks pretty when we have that little scanner in hand!

Whenever I think of summer, I think of warm nights sleeping with a fan in the window and a pretty, light quilt on the bed. This photo at Apartment Therapy today is exactly what I mean:

We haven't decided where to register yet, but Macy's is a good possibility. It's one store that is conveniently located for both of our families. If that's what we pick, this cool green and blue quilt from Martha would be a great option:

If you're not into the colors and patterns of more traditional quilting, these lovely neutrals at Bloomingdale's provide a great modern option too:

What will you definitely register for? How early did you start your registry?

we started our registry process right around the year-in-advance mark - mostly because Crate & Barrel was doing one of their registry parties and we definitely wanted in on that. Now we've added Macy's, Sears and Ten Thousand Villages, and we're still playing around with them so they're not ready to share with people yet. It's tough figuring out what to register for when we don't have a house yet! Congrats on getting That out of the way!

I'm glad you posted on registries! We are 10.5 months out and haven't registered yet, and while we have an idea of what to register for, we don't know where/when to register. I've thought about Crate and Barrel (obviously), Bed Bath & Beyond, and Bloomies or another dept store. I also wondered about Amazon.com. Thoughts anyone?

No one feel bad! I have about 3 months to go and have yet to really register for anything because we have everything. I picked out a few odds and ends online (amazon.com is great) but this has been the one wedding thing that I have not really gotten into!

We're also having a pseudo-destination wedding, so I figured people were shelling out enough money to fly in from all over the country and abroad to see us get hitched.

One thing I registered for: a sweet decanter from Crate & Barrel.
