Introductions are in order!

Hello! And how are you?

I'm Miss Bowie (as in Maryland - pronounced like Buoy, not as in David Bowie). :) I'm delighted to be joining this blog and a little over six months away from my wedding date - April 26, 2008.

I'm 28, a seasoned photographer (portraits, events, freelance, and, yes - weddings) and a new teacher of middle school Reading and Language Arts. I've been unofficially engaged since April/May 2007 and officially engaged since this most recent Labor Day weekend. (The distinction is because we started designing the ring but it wasn't finished until then.)

So far the wedding planning process has been... indescribable. Literally. Things that I never thought would be an issue have been INCREDIBLY stressful and things that I completely expected to be the worst in the world to deal with have been truly enjoyable. Example? Shopping for a wedding dress (but I'll save the details of that for another posting)! I didn't expect to enjoy it at all. So far it's been one of the best things of everything I've had to do.

Anyway, I hope that what I have to share can help you out! I've never been a girl who expected to or wanted to get married. For this reason I never had any kind of ideals picked out for myself and I've kind of had to make things up along the way. It's worked out but I can definitely say that it would have been a little easier if I had established some better direction initially. Oh well! I'm learning AND developing a good vision NOW.

Thanks so much for having me here! See ya next time!
