Will you marry...us?

When Signor Keswick and I began planning our wedding, we thought the hardest parts of it would be planning the reception details (flowers, favors, etc.). However, we are finding it nearly impossible to secure our priest for the nuptial mass! I am Catholic (he's not), so it's very important to my mother and I to have a Catholic wedding. First we tried the priest from my hometown (he said maybe, but he'd have to find a substitute. Understandable. He'd have to drive 4 hours to get to the ceremony.) Then we tried the priests at our church in Arlington. Here are the responses:

1) Are you getting married in August? I'm sorry. The reason I ask is because I'll be out of town the month of August.
2) Next summer you said? I'm sorry. I'll be doing my resesarch and I'm not sure if I'll be able to make the ceremony. Generally I would say yes and I would work with you the year before and get to know you so I can personalize the ceremony.
3) Summer 2009? I'm sorry, I'll be out of town mid-July to mig-August 2009.

4 no's! While I understand that priests are busy, I had no idea that so many of them would all be busy at the same time! This was over the last 3 weeks. We've now been in touch with a Catholic church in Charlottesville (the only church that doesn't say we have to be registered, active parishioners 6mos - 1 year before the ceremony) and they said they're available for a wedding. However, they only said that they'd make sure a priest was there to do the ceremony, but I didn't need to talk to a priest directly to secure it. This makes me a little uneasy as I have learned priests are quite busy in the summer. One very nice former bride on The Knot responded to my plea and told me about another church in the C-ville area, however, it's about 20 min. south of the city and Keswick and the (probable) hotel we'll be blocking for our guests. I'm beside myself as to deciding to go with the C-vill Church or the Palmyra church as this has taken much longer than I'd anticipated. In addition, Knottie bride said that she had a wonderful experience with the Palmyra church and highly recommended them (as they had to go through the same thing other C-ville churches during their wedding planning).

What did you consider when deciding your ceremony location? How much emphasis did you put on ease of travel on your guests and logistics?
