Black Flowers

This week I happened to run across two weddings done by Alexandria area florist Helen Olivia in which she used black flowers. The most common black flower you will see is the black calla lily. It's actually a dark dark purple but because it's so dark it looks black. What are your thoughts? Do you like black flowers? Would you use them in your wedding?

Love Helen Olivia, Maryanne is a favorite of mine. I also love these flowers alongside aubergine and purples. Very cool.

These are exactly what I'm looking for to compliment my dark purple, golds and ivories palette. Love them!

I'm doing a black/red/white wedding, and all the flowers are calla lilies...I adore the combination! Very dramatic but simple and romantic.
