Wedding Weekend...

What is a wedding weekend? Well this is the new "fad" that is occurring since more and more people are traveling to weddings, its a way that the couple getting married can not only extend there own festivities but also help the guests enjoy the attractions/activities of the surrounding area!

FI and I are "transplanted here" he is originally from OH and I'm from NY, we have friends from all over the country ( and one of my bridesmaids is from India)So most of our wedding party/guest list are going to be out of towners. With this in mind it seemed only plausible to have a "wedding weekend".

D.C is a GREAT town to have a wedding weekend in, there is SO much to do. FI and I have been throwing ideas around, but one thing that my family is very adamant about is Golf...so FI and I have decided that on Friday morning we are going to have a "golf tournament" ...we are looking into having Tees and Balls and perhaps other Items personalized for a "golf tournament" of sorts ( a way to keep the guys
happy :) ). So far I have found this website that has cute golf trinkets:

^ For 100 tee's it's under $30, not bad, and something my brothers ( yes I have 4 of them!) and FI uncle and other family members can use, and always remember our special day :)

^ I love the idea of the golf balls, but not sure if we want to invest this type of money, but a cute idea!

^ Also a cute idea, and economical!

These are just a few things I've found so far, my brother is looking into clubs in the area that he think are good and that he could get us into ( a lot of private courses have restrictions) if you have any suggestions please let me know!

I would also love to hear what other DC brides have planned for there out of town guests over the wedding weekend!?

This is an excellent idea! I'm surely going to include these in our gifts for the groomsman, since they plan to golf Friday morning!

Thanks for sharing!

We are having a wedding weekend as well. We are starting the Friday night before the wedding by inviting all of the guests to join us as our rehearsal dinner at Dave & Busters. Saturday (day-of) I am inviting all of the ladies in my immediate and extended family to join me for a mini-spa "experience" and the guys will all be off to play a round or two of golf. The Sunday morning after there will be a brunch at one of the hotels we have blocked rooms at. Other stuff we haven't officially planned but will be offered? Brochures and restaurant recommendations of our favorite places in the area. I've also been considering a fun "map" of all of the places FH and I have been to and that have special meaning to us for those who want a tour of the area as well as where our relationship has gone - whether or not they want to visit these places or not is up to them.
