Our Labor of Love
Ever since my friend got married in Atlanta a few weeks ago I've been stalking her photographer's blog. I already stalk like a million photo blogs so what's one more? The bad news is they haven't updated it in 11 days which is like saying "forever" in blog world. The good news is their most recent post is of the cutest wedding so I'm not tired of looking at the great pics. I love the red and white colors...it looks very modern and crisp and the bridesmaid dresses remind me of candystriper dresses...so what's not to love? Plus many parts of the wedding were DIY! Go check out more of Ashley and Dusty's wedding at Our Blog of Love, the blog for Our Labor of Love Photography (those are the folks who took all the great pics below!)

Any idea what those lanterns are made of?
i'm such a DIY idiot..I don't know what they are made of. It looks like a normal japanese lantern as the base and then they wrapped them with something? Any Marthas out there got any ideas?
They appear to me to be of tissue paper flowers, but i could be wrong.
Anthrolpology just did a similar looking design in their stores. You know what they made them out of? Cupcake liners. It was kind of the same idea as using tissue paper and a pencil to twist it so it makes a little "blossom", but all of the ribbing in the cups gave it tons of extra dimension. I actually looked into doing something similar and thought of using styrofoam speheres to attach them to, but the big 1ft in diameter ones are like $25 a piece...Here's a link to the cupcake liners I'm talking about.

i think i saw a photo of those anthropologie ones somewhere, but someone said they were coffee filters. so maybe it was another set? anyway, i LOVE these. they look so lovely and soft.
hi, this is ashley. thanks so much for your compliments of our wedding! the idea did come from anthropologie, and yes they are chinese lanterns covered with cupcake liners. we used regular tape to attach the liners after finding that the hot glue didn't work so well. you can see all the photos from the wedding if you go to www.dustandash.com. thanks again!
